These steps will roughly outline the process of obtaining medicaid funding for non-emergency medical transportation. In simple terms, here is how the Medicaid-funded transportation system works in New York:
- You must ask your care provider to schedule transportation services through Medicaid, or they determine you need them and inform you of this determination.
- At least three days before your appointment, your care provider must contact Medical Answering Services to make a request for non-emergncy medical transportation.
- Your care provider fills out Form 2015 from Medical Answering Services
- You call Medical Answering Services and request a specific transportation provider. At this point in the process you can request GCC Transportation as your trusted transportation provider.
- Your trusted transportation provider does your scheduled trips to and from your medical appointment.
GCC Transportation applies a rigorous vetting and training process to ensure that every one of our employees will uphold the incredible standards we maintain.
Every one of our drivers are certified by the Taxi and Limousine Commission of New York.
GCC Transportation performs comprehensive background checks on every employee.
Our drivers must pass our own inclusive training program to prepare them to work with people with developmental disabilities and/or mental health issues, so you can trust you or your loved one is in good hands.
